Salonist- Idea and Journey

Back in 2015, Mr. Gupta met one of his friends in Singapore who has a Salon in Paragon Mall Orchard Road Singapore. While chit-chatting, his friend shared the issues he was facing as a salon business owner. Some of them were appointment booking, multi-location accessibility, and inventory management. After knowing so, Mr. Gupta went to other salons to know more about it. From there, he concluded implementing a solution that could help them in streamlining their Salon operations.  After researching in-depth and discussing his idea with core-team members, he launched Salonist in 2017. The objective of which is to reduce the salon owner’s pain points and improve the outreach.

Every salon located in Singapore started adopting Salonist for scheduling appointments online. Today salons in 60 countries are using the Salonist system, and more than half now are U.S. salons. India, with a growing market of salon chains, is the next national target.

They mainly focus on companies that have a wide range of varying branches and a solid brand presence in the beauty and wellness vertical.

Challenges are certain when you are running a business. But, overcoming them is what makes you different. Before launching Salonist to market, there were two challenges that Mr. Gupta came through. The first one was after outlining the type of software to introduce, there was no clue on how to implement and achieve the desired goals. But, after knowing Trello and Jeera’s benefits, the skilled professionals worked on it and implemented ideas into reality.

Another one was Marketing the software and making it accessible to as many customers as possible.  But how? The team has taken help from marketing experts and defined productive marketing strategies. They used social media ads and paid campaigns on different platforms.

As they know businesses needed reliable unique cloud-based CRM software. Most of the solutions in the market were built in the 90s and use old technologies. Salonist then took it as a challenge to remove the old system and bring in innovations that are not like the old ones.
