Deep-tech startup Praan has raised an undisclosed amount from global investors Aera VC, angel investment syndication Climate Angels, and Sequoia Scouts in a new funding round.
In this round many investors including angel Investor Akshat Rajan and film director Roshan Abbas, Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Paytm), Nipun Sahni (Apollo Global Management), and Paula Mariwala (Seedfund Advisors), Cool Climate Collective includes global angels from Tesla, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, and others also participated in the round.
The company plans to use the funds to expand Praan’s Indian team, accelerate manufacturing and stabilize the supply chain.
This latest fundraising is an extension of its $1.56 million round in January.
San Francisco-based startup was founded in 2017 by Angad Daryani, Praan is a venture-backed deep-tech start-up that uses patent-pending technology to filter-free capture particulates and carbon dioxide from ambient air.
The main objective of Praan is to reduce urban air pollution through low-cost, filterless, and artificial intelligence-based outdoor air purification systems.
The company already has started pilots on a large scale in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, and Rajasthan. The company’s products are largely manufactured in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
