Shiprocket Acquires Arvind’s Omuni For INR 200 Cr

Zomato-backed Shiprocket, a logistics and fulfillment startup has completed the acquisition of omnichannel technology business – Omuni in INR 200 Crore cash and stock deal.

Through this acquisition, it will help both companies facilitate quick, efficient delivery of shipments from stores closest to the warehouse, thereby reducing delivery timelines and increasing customer satisfaction, the company said in a statement.

The Bangalore-based Omuni powered by Arvind Internet was founded in 2014, it is an omnichannel retail platform that offers discovery, selling, and assisting platforms to its clients. It has worked with brands like Vero Moda, Arrow, Mufti, GAP, among others.

It claims to help global brands run more than 5,000 stores.

“We have built Omuni into an industry leading product used by some of the largest brands in the country. By combining our retail stack with the Shiprocket Ecosystem we will be able to make the extensive inventory of retail stores available to be sold seamlessly via Shiprocket’s logistics as a service solution,” said, Kulin Lalbhai, Executive director of Arvind Ltd.

Shiprocket was founded in 2017 by Saahil Goel, Vishesh Khurana, Gautam Kapoor, and Akshay Gulati, It claims to help 2.5 lakh vendors with their logistics demands. It also said that it packages over 70 million consumers annually.

“Omuni’s SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) products will allow us to unify inventory, order, catalouge, content, pricing, and data across physical and digital storefronts for the best possible ecommerce experience for customers. Together, we aim to redefine e-commerce logistics through omnichannel retail enablement,” said Saahil Goel, co-founder and CEO of Shiprocket.

Last month it acquired Pickrr in a $200 million deal that began a significant consolidation in the industry.

Last year it had raised $185 million in funding round from Zomato, Temasek, and among others. Previously, it acquired a majority stake in Glaucus, a supply chain solution, for an undisclosed amount.
