Redstart Labs, a division of Info Edge, Syndicate, and angel investors including Akshay Chaturvedi (LeverageEdu), Yatish Talvadia, and Sanjay Singh (ex-PayTM), among others, contributed $800,000 (roughly Rs 6.6 crore) to Sploot’s seed funding round.
The business plans to use the recently acquired capital to expand its offerings, which already include dog walking, dog grooming, and premium ready-to-feed dog food. They also intend to expand their territory. Sploot is a trustworthy ally for many pet parents, bringing solutions to pet issues and streamlining duties through its community and services.
sploot has served 80,000+ meals throughout the city and provided 100,000+ dog walks in the Delhi-NCR region alone, with over 100,000 downloads across the Play Store and App Store. This user-driven platform now has 82K+ Instagram followers.
The Co-founder and CEO of sploot, Garima Kaushal, took this opportunity to share, “The idea for sploot came from seeing generations of pet parents learn by making the same mistakes. sploot was our effort to help pet parents be better by learning collectively from each other and the experts. We believe that education about pet parenting is the first step towards influencing purchase decisions.”
Sanjay Singh, a former member of PayTM, Mukul, an angel investor and a former member of Adobe, Aryan Mhaiskar, an angel investor, and other participants via GripInvest are also supporting Sploot. Akshay Chaturvedi, founder and CEO of LeverageEdu and Fly, is also a supporter.
Info Edge has been associated with sploot since its first round of seed funding, where it invested $500,000 in 2022. A firm partner, Vibhore Sharma, said, “Various studies value India’s pet care market at over $500 million, and it is likely to grow multifold at 20% annually. This growth will increase the demand for pet care products, services, and experts. sploot is on its way to being the platform for pet parents to get everything they need in one place.”
In 2019, two dog owners became aware of the absence of dog care and made the decision to establish a trustworthy dog-parent community and simplify dog ownership.
They created an app to help you be a better dog parent by giving you access to a network of dog parents, helping with services like dog walking and grooming, and helping your dog get closer to health with fresh food.
