A blockchain-based AI company called Sentient has raised $85 million in a seed round led by Panera Capital, Framework Ventures, and Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund.
Investors in Sentient also included Ethereal Ventures, Robot Ventures, Symbolic Capital, Delphi Ventures, Republic, Arrington Capital, and others.
Nailwal, Pramod Viswanath, Forrest G. Hamrick (Professor of Engineering at Princeton University), Himanshu Tyagi (Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc)), and Sensys (an AI venture studio) are the company’s “core contributors.” They all have a lot of experience with blockchain technology, AI research, and building ecosystems.

Sentient’s main goal is to make open AI solutions by combining blockchain technology with AI. Businesses, students, and developers will be able to get paid for their work on AI tools thanks to its open-source platform.
Additionally, Sentient said that it is committed to protecting ownership rights in AI research and starting an “era of fair AI entrepreneurship.”
Sandeep Nailwal, Co-founder, Sentient, said: “It Sentient will be built on Polygon Agglayer, and I will be helping them as a core contributor. This project is extremely ambitious and with model loyalty, it is trying to solve a problem that has never been approached in this direction. With this fundraising, Sentient already has some of the world’s best AI minds joining it, and the AI team is getting pretty stacked with senior people from Google, Deepmind, and other top AI companies in the world engaged,”
