Better Beauty, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) firm founded by TV actress Anita Hassanandani, has raised $200K from Indian cosmetics company Lotus Herbals.

Better Beauty, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) firm founded by TV actress Anita Hassanandani, has raised $200K from Indian cosmetics company Lotus Herbals.

The funds will be used by Better Beauty for brand marketing, R&D, and expanding its offline presence. The business also intends to use the additional funds for hiring new employees, improving its product line, and making acquisitions, as per reported by Inc42.

Better Beauty is a high-end, sustainably made skincare line that was founded by television actress Anita Hassanandani and Naina Ruhail, co-founder of Vanity Wagon.

“Better Beauty- is a luxurious, sustainable and honestly crafted skincare brand on a mission to deliver clean and conscious beauty products,” said Nitin Passi, chairman and managing director, Lotus Herbals.

Better Beauty stated that it hopes to increase its product portfolio to 10 in a year and reach an annual revenue rate of INR 7.2 Cr. Products are sold through Vanity Wagon, an online marketplace, and the company’s website.

“Consumers today are looking beyond marketing claims and are seeking efficacy-based skincare products. My journey in the entertainment industry has been a lot about connecting with my viewers and that is also my vision with Better Beauty,” Hassanandani said.

Over 10,000 clients, according to Better Beauty, have received deliveries of products so far. According to the business, it also has aspirations to enter international markets and develop a proprietary product line based on cutting-edge cell technology used in the skincare industry.

“We are going to focus on expanding our product catalogue, marketing budgets and increasing our offline presence across the country,” said Naina Ruhail, co-founder of Better Beauty.
