Sparkle Fund, a venture capital division of DMI Alternatives, has invested Rs 40 crore ($4.86 million) in EazyDiner, a restaurant table booking, cuisine discovery platform.

According to CEO Kapil Chopra, the startup, which is active in India and the United Arab Emirates, will use the funds to develop new products and expand operations from the existing 30 locations to 100, as per reported by The Economic Times.

“This money will go towards developing new products which will help users eat out in a more convenient way, get them instant confirmations… This money is going to go on launching payments into Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia. The Middle East is very significant because that is a very important market for us and we’ve been in Dubai for over five years now,” Kapil Chopra added.
