EdTech Startup EdSARRTHI has raised undisclosed amount in seed funding round from a group of Angel Investors.
The startup plans to use the funds to further expand the team and diversify the product offering.
Founded in September 2020 by Varun Jain, IIT Roorkee Graduate, EdSARRTHI is an Ed-tech start-up that provides mentorship for competitive examinations like UPSC CSE.
Since its inception, it was bootstrapped and managed to get 7000 paid customers on its learning app.
The startup has so far garnered over 1 lakh unique visitors on its web portal and app with an average engagement of 12 minutes.
Recently, UPSC has announced the final results for UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021, and 685 students have made it to the merit list, out of which 36 students have been selected through EdSARRTHI. 6 of his students scored in the top 50 ranks at the All India level and 9 students scored in the top 100.
“It’s a big achievement for us. We are focused on offering our students needs, I’m confident that we’ll Perform stronger in the upcoming years”, said, Varun Jain, founder, EdSARRTHI.
“In Online Education Era the study content has multiplied enormously creating. Problem of Plenty for the Students. Problem of Plenty means when a student has multiple sources to study from, but he/she is unable to decide the right source. It also means a situation where students gather a lot of information, but don’t know how to utilize it in examinations. This is the exact Problem, EdSarrthi is solving through its mentorship initiative,” he added.
Commenting on edtech’s employee layoff among the major Edtech players, Co-Founder Prafful Agarwal, MBA from HULT, San Francisco, said, ”The company has had a Positive Cash Flow in the past 1.5 years and now has raised the fund to further scale up the operations. We are here to build a Sustainable Company fulfilling the aspiration of investors, employees and its customers.”
Aggarwal also added on the future outlook that with the growth of content-based edtech companies the problem of many will increase. We are planning to offer our services in State PCS and other competitive exams in near future.
It has also launched its plan to form partnerships with various public and private institutions. The focus of public institutions is on providing quality counseling in remote areas whereas in case of private institutions it is on providing mentoring at a young age.
