Spolto, a sports-tech startup, has secured $1 million (approximately Rs 8.4 crore) in a seed round anchored by Andrew Johnston and other investors.
Spolto asserts that the proceeds will be allocated to the expansion of its services and the outreach to additional urban communities.
Spolto, which was established in 2021 by Safa Soltani and Divesh Nathani, is dedicated to empowering sports in urban areas of India. The platform provides access to a diverse selection of sports, including badminton, gymnastics, tennis, and swimming. Additionally, it offers new-age activities such as pickleball. The startup’s objective is to promote the development of grassroots sports and the acquisition of recreational skills, thereby integrating sports into the daily lives of urban Indians.

Spolto is in the process of improving its digital presence to better cater to the requirements of the contemporary Indian consumer. It aspires to become the premier platform for the development of sports skills in India’s urban centers, with an emphasis on convenience and accessibility.
According to the Pune-based organization, it has collaborated with more than 1,200 coaches and academies in Maharashtra, spanning 12 sports, since its inception.
