Goyal’s resignation requires shareholders’ approval, and he will stay on the board as Vice Chairman. According to the filing, Albinder Dhindsa will become Eternal’s new Group CEO.

The stock options were issued under Foodie Bay ESOP 2014, Zomato ESOP 2021, and Zomato ESOP 2024. The largest allocation came from ESOP 2021 with 41.2 lakh options, followed by 22.9 lakh under ESOP 2024.

As per its stock exchange filing, Zomato’s parent Eternal received a tax order claiming a GST shortfall of ₹17.19 crore, plus ₹21.42 crore in interest and ₹1.72 crore as penalty. 

Mangla is currently the Head of Product for food ordering and delivery at Eternal. Since joining in March 2021, he has held several key roles, including Head of Supply and Head of Customer Experience.

Zomato plans to expand its electric bike rental program to other regions, depending on how many delivery partners adopt it in the Delhi-NCR area.

The feature, which was part of Zomato Everyday, was previously highlighted on the app’s homepage but is now unavailable in cities like Bengaluru, Gurugram, Hyderabad and Mumbai. It’s possible that Zomato may release a new version of the service later.

The shift follows the departure of COO Rinshul Chandra in April, who left for new opportunities. With Goyal now directly running food delivery, Zomato aims to keep growing and stay strong in the competitive market.

This comes after the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) filed a plea, saying it was unfairly removed from a “confidentiality ring” — a setup created in 2022 to let involved parties access sensitive information for a fair defence.

In his resignation letter, Chandra said he is stepping down to “pursue new opportunities and passions that align with my evolving personal and professional goals”.
