Zomato Stops 15-Minute Food Delivery Service 'Quick' After Four Months Launch

Zomato has reportedly removed its 15-minute food delivery service- Quick, from its main app just four months after launching it. This suggests the company may be reevaluating its strategy for ultra-fast meal deliveries.

The feature, which was part of Zomato Everyday, was previously highlighted on the app’s homepage but is now unavailable in cities like Bengaluru, Gurugram, Hyderabad and Mumbai. It’s possible that Zomato may release a new version of the service later.

Quick offered ready-to-eat meals from select restaurants within a 2-kilometre radius but is no longer visible. The service accounted for about 8% of the app’s total order volume in March.

This was Zomato's second attempt at quick food delivery after Zomato Instant, which launched in 2022 but was shut down by January 2023. It was replaced by Zomato Everyday, a home-style meal service with similar delivery times.

Although Zomato no longer offers Quick in its main app, it has launched Bistro by Blinkit, a separate service that delivers fast, ready-to-eat dishes made in Blinkit's dark stores. 

The service focuses on snacks, small meals, and bakery items, using Blinkit’s quick-commerce network combined with Zomato’s food delivery expertise.

It seems Zomato is moving its quick-food plans to a separate platform, powered by Blinkit’s infrastructure, to focus on smaller, quicker meals. 

This shift comes as new players like Zepto, which now delivers over 100,000 orders daily through its standalone app, are dominating the 15-minute delivery space.
