Eternal-owned food delivery major Zomato has partnered with online travel aggregator (OTA) major MakeMyTrip to let train passengers order meals delivered right to their seats.

MakeMyTrip users booking train tickets can now order food from 40,000+ restaurants at over 130 stations, the company said on Wednesday.

After booking, passengers get services like Zomato-powered food delivery, live PNR status updates, and real-time train tracking until they reach their destination.

Through this partnership, MakeMyTrip will use its “Live Train Status” tool to track trains in real time. Passengers can place food orders on the app by entering their PNR and choosing a delivery station.

“Over the past few years, we have been growing faster than the overall industry in the train booking domain, driven by a sustained focus on customer-centric innovations. With the launch of our Food on Train Marketplace, we are taking another step in enhancing the travel experience by giving passengers greater choice and convenience," said Raj Rishi Singh, chief business officer and chief marketing officer, MakeMyTrip.

The tie-up targets the growing e-catering market, improving passenger experience while opening new growth avenues for Zomato and MMT. In FY25, over 90,000 passengers used Indian Railways’ e-catering services daily, a 66% rise from last year.
