Eternal Deepinder Goyal Steps Down as Group CEO, Albinder Dhindsa Appointed

Zomato’s Deepinder Goyal announced on Wednesday that he is stepping down as the Group CEO, according to the company filing.

In a letter to the shareholders, Goyal said, "Of late, I have found myself drawn to a set of new ideas that involve significantly higher-risk exploration and experimentation. These are the kinds of ideas that are better pursued outside a public company like Eternal."

"Eternal deserves to remain focused, and disciplined, while exploring new areas of growth that are relevant to its current line of business. While I believe I personally have the bandwidth to continue what I am doing at Eternal, and also explore new ideas outside of it, the expectations, legal and otherwise, of a public company CEO in India demand singular focus," he added.

Goyal’s resignation requires shareholders’ approval, and he will stay on the board as Vice Chairman.

According to the filing, Albinder Dhindsa will become Eternal’s new Group CEO.

Eternal on Wednesday reported a consolidated net profit of ₹102 crore in Q3 FY26, a 73% increase from ₹59 crore in Q3 FY25. Its revenue from operations rose to ₹16,315 crore.

Deepinder Goyal co-founded Zomato in 2008. Under his leadership, the company went public in 2021 and later restructured under the Eternal umbrella. He has been instrumental in growing Zomato from a restaurant discovery platform to a diversified consumer internet business covering food delivery, quick commerce and B2B supplies.
