Avnish Anand, the cofounder, managing director (MD), and CEO of CaratLane, an omnichannel jewelry startup owned by Tata, has resigned from his position after a nine-year tenure at the company.
He was an IIM-Lucknow alumnus who served in a variety of roles at companies including Standard Chartered Bank, DuPont India, and Times Business Solutions prior to joining CaratLane in 2008.
In 2011, he departed the jewelry startup; however, he returned to the organization in 2015 as the director of products. He progressed through the organization to become the CEO and co-founder of CaratLane.

He was appointed as the CEO of CaratLane last year, just days after his former employer and cofounder Mithun Sacheti, who sold his shares to Tata Group-owned watchmaking giant Titan, exited the company.
