Mr. Shantanu Bairagi has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Veefin Capital Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Veefin Group. Veefin Capital is dedicated to developing a new asset class in supply chain finance that would provide advantages to borrowers, particularly MSMEs.
Mr. Bairagi, who has more than two decades of experience in banking and finance, will utilize his extensive knowledge and skills to promote the company’s expansion and advancement in his new position.
Bairagi commenced his professional journey in the banking industry at ICICI Bank, which is recognized as the largest private-sector bank in India. He was responsible for overseeing corporate coverage and establishing cost-effective rural distribution channels.
Subsequently, he became a member of Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he played a crucial part in setting up its corporate banking division. He took the lead in developing connections with major Indian corporations and successfully carried out significant transactions including structured receivable finance and debt consolidation.

At Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), he established the corporate banking franchise with a specific focus on the Indo-GCC corridor. This initiative greatly enhanced ADCB’s footprint in India and facilitated international trade finance and cross-border funding.
Bairagi established a non-banking financial company (NBFC) specializing in factoring, as well as a supply chain advising firm. These companies are recognized for their inventive funding models inside the capital markets. The company was the first to introduce India’s covered Commercial Paper (CP) and Pass Through Certificate (PTC). They increased the value of their managed assets, converted receivables into securities, and provided substantial help to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
