Unacademy’s Co-founder and CTO Hemesh Singh Quits

Hemesh Singh, the chief technology officer and co-founder of Unacademy, has made the decision to leave Unacademy after nearly ten years of employment. He's going to go into an advisory capacity immediately.

Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), located in Allahabad, is where Hemesh Singh received his education. In 2015, Gaurav Munjal (CEO) and his pals Dr Roman Saini and Hemesh Singh (CTO) founded Uncademy. In 2010, they first launched it as a YouTube venture.

In the last 12 months, Unacademy has had three high-profile exits. Chief operating officer Vivek Sinha left the company in August 2023, while chief financial officer (CFO) Subramanian Ramachandran left in November.

The company promoted Sumit Jain to co-founder in August of last year. Jain is presently in charge of Unacademy's Graphy division.

Pratik Dalal was named chief financial officer (CFO) of Unacademy's offline centers business in January.


Hemesh Singh, said: "After almost a decade of building Unacademy with Gaurav Munjal and roman saini , I have decided to move from an Executive Role to an Advisory Role,"

Gaurav Munjal, CEO, Unacademy, said: “Hemesh (Singh) and I started working together 11 years ago when we were building Flatchat. It had been a Crazy Ride and I have been grateful to have a Co-Founder like you. Unacademy will miss you,”
