IKEA India Achieves 100% EV-Powered Deliveries

IKEA India has successfully reached a noteworthy achievement by completely shifting to electric vehicle (EV) deliveries in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune. The company’s operations in Mumbai will also soon adopt this practice.

The company intends to implement an electric vehicle (EV)-focused strategy in all new areas, including Delhi NCR. IKEA is currently conducting a trial of same-day delivery in Hyderabad and intends to extend this service to all its markets in the upcoming year.

IKEA India stated that this accomplishment is in line with their dedication to sustainability. The company has advanced from its initial study of electric vehicles (EVs) in 2019 to achieving a 28% rate of environmentally friendly deliveries in 2023, and it currently has an impressive 88% rate of EV adoption. The corporation claimed that these initiatives are aimed at mitigating carbon emissions and advancing climate regulation.

IKEA has collaborated with local original equipment manufacturers, such as small and medium-sized firms and startups, to provide inventive mobility solutions as part of its network transformation. This collaboration is bolstering the local economy, fostering job growth, and empowering small businesses.

IKEA’s objective is to accomplish complete electric vehicle (EV) deliveries in all of its activities by 2025. This will be achieved through a concentration on expanding their EV fleet on a massive scale, fostering ongoing innovation, and collaborating with the government. This effort is a component of IKEA’s worldwide objective to achieve climate positivity. It aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% throughout its whole value chain by 2030 and ultimately achieve a state of net-zero emissions by 2050.
