Kant’s appointment comes as the higher-education and upskilling company steps up its global expansion. It also aligns with Upgrad’s plan to possibly go public in the next 18 months.

Dhakad will manage upGrad’s entire product, design, and technology operations across both learner and enterprise divisions, focusing on innovation, scalability, and improving the global user experience, the company said today.

Although the talks haven’t been officially announced, the potential valuation represents a sharp drop from Unacademy’s last publicly disclosed valuation of $3.44 billion in 2021, when it raised $440 million in a Temasek-led Series H funding round.
