Flipkart Strengthens Board with Appointment of Former Meta Executive Dan Neary

flipkart said on Wednesday that it has appointed former Meta executive Dan Neary to its board of directors as it strengthens its governance and leadership ahead of its planned IPO.

The move comes after a similar board appointment last year, when Walmart Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Affairs Dan Bartlett joined Flipkart’s board in November 2024 as part of the parent company’s push to strengthen oversight of the business.

Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO and Member of the Board, Flipkart Group, said, “We are delighted to welcome Dan to the Flipkart Board. His global experience across technology, digital commerce, and platform scale will be invaluable as we shape the next phase of Flipkart’s journey."

"With AI transforming every layer of retail, from customer experience to supply chain and seller empowerment, Dan’s perspective and leadership will help accelerate our innovation agenda. The update comes just weeks after Walmart praised Flipkart’s performance in its third-quarter results. Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale, held earlier than usual, boosted Walmart’s international business in Q3, though it is expected to slow growth in Q4.

Flipkart’s decision to strengthen its board also comes at a time when there is renewed attention on its IPO plans, especially as rival meesho is set to open its public offering on December 4.
