Ex-Flipkart executive Jeyandran Venugopal named President and CEO of Reliance Retail Ventures

Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd (RRVL), the parent company of Reliance Retail, has appointed former flipkart chief product and technology officer Jeyandran Venugopal as its president and CEO.

At Flipkart, Venugopal served as the Chief Product and Technology Officer, where he played a key role in driving the company’s growth, improving customer engagement, expanding the platform, and strengthening its market leadership.

He has also worked with Amazon Web Services and Yahoo.

In a note shared with employees, RRVL executive director Isha Ambani said that Venugopal will work closely with her and the Reliance Retail leadership team, under the overall guidance of Mukesh Ambani and Manoj Modi.

He will be responsible for strengthening the retail portfolio, accelerating omnichannel growth, and improving operational and technical excellence across the value chain.

Venugopal holds dual master’s degrees in computer science and mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois.

Reliance Retail has been expanding its leadership team, recently hiring Guillaume de Colonges, formerly with French retailer Carrefour.
