Vervotech
In a world where travel platforms were racing to offer more hotels, faster bookings, and deeper discounts, no one was fixing the chaos beneath it all—broken hotel data, duplicate listings, mismatched amenities, and costly errors. For travelers, it meant confusion. For companies, lost revenue.
That’s the clutter Sanjay Ghare and Dharmendra Ladi decided to clean up.
What they built wasn’t just another travel software—it was the unseen infrastructure that powers seamless bookings: a smart system that understands, standardizes, and simplifies hotel content globally.
From a modest office in Pune to a marquee acquisition by a TSX-listed firm, this is the story of Vervotech—of how grit, clarity of purpose, and an obsession with solving real problems can transform a bootstrapped idea into a global SaaS powerhouse.
Founder's Background
Born and brought up in the heartland of Maharashtra, Sanjay Ghare studied for an engineering degree from the D.Y. Patil College, Pune, and then did a C‑DAC course in advanced computing. His career really started with a Vice-President level job in Travel Technology with a company called Tavisca, which would be later sold to JP Morgan in 2008.
That’s when he crossed paths with SPPU engineer and Indian School of Business alumnus Dharmendra Ladi. It was this combination of vision and experience which set the wheels in motion for building something remarkable.

Identifying the Problem
While working at Tavisca, they came across a frequent problem: the manual hotel mapping errors that kept surfacing on travel aggregators.
As a result of duplicate listings, mismatched amenities and incorrect room types, people were frustrated and there was significant revenue loss. They noticed many travel aggregators relied on manual hotel content mapping, leading to frequent human errors and missed business opportunities.
This disappointing experience led them to the spark which turned into an opportunity to build something meaningful.
Taking the Leap into Entrepreneurship
In 2018, Sanjay and Dharmendra took this opportunity not just to solve the problem, but to help people in the travel industry.
Fueled by this mission, they decided to act. Leaving behind stable careers, they co-founded Vervotech in Pune.
Along with four other co-founders, they pooled ₹10 lakh and bootstrapped their venture—an AI-driven hotel and room mapping SaaS platform designed to eliminate the very problems they had witnessed firsthand.
Building from the Ground Up
They bootstrapped their way into the business and it all began with a team of six in a small office in Pune where they toiled, building their own algorithms on a diet of data from the top ten travel companies as of today in India.
Their goal was audacious: to build the world's "gold standard" for automated hotel content mapping.

Early Roadblocks
As with many bootstrapped startups, it was tough going at first. They were on a shoestring, and the stress of having to win over clients was high. But their persistence paid off.
In October 2018, Akbar Travels became their client, thus validating their solution and providing crucial cash flow just one month after launch.
Turning Adversity into Opportunity
When the COVID‑19 pandemic hit, the travel industry suffered a massive blow. However, Vervotech's clients remained loyal and confident that the company's value would be vital in the post-pandemic boom.
And they were right. As "revenge travel" surged, Vervotech's product became more relevant than ever.

Scaling to a Global Level
Today, Vervotech boasts a 90-member team across engineering, sales, marketing, and communication. The company's AI-powered system now maps hotel data from over 400 global suppliers in real time, offering 99.999% accuracy.
Their client base has grown to include major travel players like Stuba, WebBeds, Travelxp, FCM, Travel Leaders Group, HotelPlanner.com, and 5M Travel Group.
A Vision for Seamless Travel
Sanjay and Dharmendra believe Vervotech as "A smart librarian for hotel content, as travel companies no longer need to worry about the accuracy of their hotel data. They can focus on what they do best—selling travel and serving customers."
As one of the few Indian players in the niche of hotel mapping, Vervotech competes primarily with international firms.
Leadership & Company Culture
Vervotech is led by Sanjay and Dharmendra, who've built a space where people actually want to show up, learn, and build cool stuff that matters. At its core, the company thrives on curiosity, obsession with product excellence, and the drive to constantly do better—even if that means tearing things down to rebuild them stronger.
Sanjay and Dharmendra are in it with their team, every step of the way. They check in on how you're doing, ask if you're stuck, and actually listen. Their leadership isn't about power or praise — it's about building something that matters, together.
The balance between dreaming big and staying grounded has turned Vervotech from a tech company into something people truly believe in.
The Principles Behind Vervotech's Success
Sanjay and Dharmendra have built Vervotech by following a few core principles they deeply believe in: They focus on solving real, meaningful problems rather than chasing trends or surface-level solutions.
From the beginning, their approach has been value-driven—they ensured that Vervotech directly improved booking conversions to win trust and traction.
And above all, they believe in hustling with purpose—making the most of limited resources through smart execution, persistence, and clarity of vision.

The Big Break & Beyond
Vervotech recently hit a massive milestone—getting acquired by the Juniper Group, part of the TSX-listed Constellation Software. But this isn't an "exit and relax" moment for the team; it's fuel for the next chapter.
With the backing of a global powerhouse, they're gearing up to scale faster and smarter—expanding into new regions like the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, and exploring new possibilities through strategic travel tech acquisitions.
What's Next for Vervotech
Now more than ever, the team is clear about what they're chasing: becoming the world's most trusted name in hotel content mapping. Their goal is to make booking smoother, cleaner, and more accurate for everyone in the travel space.
And when you zoom out, it's kind of wild. A few engineers from Pune, some savings, a shared problem—and now, a global SaaS company backed by a stock market giant.
Vervotech's story isn't just about business—it's about vision, resilience, and the belief that even the smallest beginnings can lead to something huge.
