AK Food & Beverages

When Digvijay Singh teamed up with his mother Anuradha Kushwaha to launch AK Food & Beverages, they weren't just starting a business — they were challenging a broken food supply chain and aiming to redefine how India consumes poultry.

Digvijay Singh, the Founder and CEO of the company, completed BTech in Computer Science. With no direct background in agriculture or animal husbandry, his curiosity was geared toward innovation and meaningful change.

Co-founder Anuradha Kushwaha's experience and dedication to hygiene and quality made her an essential pillar in building the brand's foundation.

The Birth of AK Food & Beverages

Digvijay came up with the concept while living in Bengaluru and observed the rising demand for chicken that was ethically raised and free of antibiotics. He was frustrated by the poultry supply chain's lack of cleanliness and transparency.

He discovered during his research that the meat that was readily available in the majority of Indian cities was frequently tainted with chemicals and lacked traceability.

As a result of this observation, AK Food & Beverages was founded with the goal of providing Indian households with clean, semi-free-range chicken that is free of antibiotic residue.

Disrupting India's Meat Market Against All Odds

It's not easy to start a meat business in India. The pair had to overcome many obstacles in order to establish a dependable farm-to-fork model and break into an unorganised sector.

One of the biggest challenges was persuading farmers to stick to antibiotic-free protocols and embrace semi-free-range practices.

Furthermore, it took money, trust, and close supervision to create a cold-chain infrastructure that could maintain freshness without sacrificing quality.

They remained steadfast in their beliefs in ethical farming, transparency, and cleanliness in spite of these obstacles.

The Startup Hits 45 Crore Milestone by Winning Urban India

Today, AK Food & Beverages is valued at ₹45 Crore. With monthly revenues exceeding ₹52 lakh and continuing to grow, the brand has established a strong presence in major cities across India.

Their operations include sourcing from contract farms that raise poultry in a controlled, natural environment — free from harmful antibiotics and growth hormones.

They've created a direct-to-consumer (D2C) supply chain that offers full traceability and real-time tracking—ensuring every product can be followed from farm to plate.

Customers can browse and place orders with confidence on their website, which serves as a smooth centre, knowing that every product is sourced from ethical, clean farming.

A Brand Winning with Quality and Care

In just a few years, the company has achieved remarkable milestones. It has served over 1 lakh satisfied customers and built an integrated farming and logistics model that ensures quality and freshness at every stage.

AK Food & Beverages has played a vital role in raising awareness about healthy meat consumption in urban India, while also empowering over 200 farmers by training them in semi-free-range practices.

What's more impressive is that the company has maintained consistent month-on-month growth, all without relying on any external funding.

Their brand is not just about meat; it's about trust, safety, and care for the end consumer — a rarity in the Indian meat industry.

Offering Clean Meat with transparency and Ethical Practices

AK Food & Beverages is built on the belief that quality meat shouldn't be a privilege.

They are on a mission to change the way Indians consume chicken by making clean, ethically sourced, affordable protein available for everyone.

Their brand is providing "Food you can trust," where meat comes with quality, care, and complete transparency.

Shaping the Future of Clean Meat with Big Plans and Bold Vision

Looking ahead, the company plans to expand into other verticals, such as goat meat and fish, while also launching a line of ready-to-cook products.

They're actively exploring smart farm tech integration for real-time monitoring, and plan to scale their D2C model pan-India within the next three years.

Furthermore, Digvijay and Anuradha envision building India's first certified clean meat brand and eventually exporting to global markets where sustainable meat consumption is gaining traction.
