Meta Expands Sandhya Devanathan Role to Lead Southeast Asia

Sandhya Devanathan, Meta’s India VP, will now also lead the company’s operations in Southeast Asia, Meta confirmed. 

This move comes after the exit of Asia-Pacific chief Dan Neary and aims to strengthen Meta’s leadership in a fast-growing region.

Devanathan, who has led Meta India since November 2022, will now oversee major markets like Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines—countries seeing rapid growth in mobile internet and e-commerce.

As part of the reshuffle, Meta veteran Benjamin Joe will become Regional VP for Asia Pacific starting in July.

“Following Ben's appointment, I am excited also to announce that I will take on additional responsibilities to lead our business in both India and Southeast Asia. I am thankful to Dan Neary for his leadership in steering the Asia Pacific business and confident that going ahead, we will continue to drive growth and innovation for our valued partners along with Ben,” said Devanathan in a LinkedIn post.  

“What remains a constant is our unwavering focus on serving you – our partners – and continuing to invest in products to help drive growth,” she added. 

Sandhya Devanathan joined Meta in 2016 and brings over 20 years of experience in tech, banking, and payments, having worked at Standard Chartered and Citi. Before leading Meta India, she headed Meta’s gaming business in the Asia-Pacific region.
