easemytrip co-founder Nishant Pitti again criticised rival MakeMyTrip on Friday, claiming its links to China are a security risk—especially when members of the Indian Armed Forces use the platform to book tickets.

On 14 May, Pitti took to his X account and wrote, "Indian Armed Forces book discounted tickets via a platform majorly owned by China, entering Defence ID, route & date. Our enemies know where our soldiers are flying."

“MakeMyTrip is a proud Indian company, founded by Indians, headquartered in India, and trusted by millions of Indian travellers for over 25 years. We are a publicly listed company on the Nasdaq, with a diverse shareholder base spanning the globe. Our operations are independent, steered by a seasoned team of Indian professionals. We don’t comment on malicious or motivated accusations," a company spokesperson said.

Pitti repeated his claims in another post on X on Thursday, saying that 5 out of 10 members on MakeMyTrip’s board have direct links to China, including key appointments made by Trip.com, a Chinese-owned company.

He also claimed that 3 of the 4 main board committees are either led or strongly influenced by directors with clear connections to China.
