Ranjit Babu, Amazon India's head of consumer electronics, has resigned. His departure comes amid several senior-level exits and changes in the company’s India operations.
In October, Amazon India's former country head, Manish Tiwary, also left, sparking concerns about the company’s performance especially in competing with flipkart.
Insiders say Amazon has been losing market share in key e-commerce areas, even as it gets ready to launch a new quick commerce service called Tez in January 2024.

Ranjit Babu is stepping down after 3 years at Amazon India. He was an important figure, managing key revenue-generating categories during his 10 years with the company.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he joined Amazon in April 2022 as Director of Selling Partner Experience. In December 2022, he took on more responsibilities after senior executive Noor Patel moved to Amazon US. In July 2023, he was appointed head of consumer electronics, overseeing the smartphone category, one of Amazon India's top revenue sources.
