Drone startup Skye Air Mobility has a partnership with Curefoods to use drones to send temperature-controlled cartons of frozen food to cloud kitchens.
According to the drone startup, as part of the agreement, the week-long BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) experiment has started from Curefood's warehouse at Jhund Sarai in Gurugram to its culinary outlet at Golf Course Road.
The Gurugram-based Skye Air Mobility was founded in 2022 by Ankit Kumar, It is specializing in drone-based delivery and has been at the forefront of various BVLOS trials, and is also developing customized drones for delivery use cases.

“This partnership represents a ground-breaking effort in the direction of using cutting-edge technology to distribute food. Curefoods has used a creative strategy to enhance logistics and better meet consumer demand. “We will be looking into B2C food deliveries in the near future. We will start with B2B pilot kitchen deliveries which ensure a higher quantity at a reduced cost”, said, Ankit Kumar, CEO of Skye Air Mobility.
According to the company, the drone covered an aerial distance of 20 km in less than 30 minutes.
Commenting on the development, Ankit Nagori, Founder, Curefoods said, "With drone delivery being initiated globally, this association with Skye Air Mobility is a pilot experiment to explore drone delivery as a viable food delivery option."
"Starting with B2B pilot kitchen deliveries which ensure a larger quantity at a lesser cost, we will be looking at B2C food deliveries soon in the future," he added.
