Elon Musk Hosts Indian Business Leaders, Praises Positive India-US Trade Trends

Billionaire Elon Musk met with top Indian business leaders at SpaceX's Starbase facility in Texas on Friday. He shared optimism about improving India-US relations and supported stronger trade ties between the two countries. 

Musk also said he was open to reducing trade barriers to boost business growth.

The Indian entrepreneurs, led by the India Global Forum (IGF), visited SpaceX’s advanced space exploration facilities this week to celebrate IGF’s expansion into the US. They also witnessed the successful launch of SpaceX's Starship Flight 7.

The IGF delegation at Musk's Starbase in Texas included Prashant Ruia- Director of Essar Capital; Jay Kotak- Co-Head of Kotak811; Ritesh Agarwal- Founder and CEO of OYO; Kalyan Raman- CEO of Flipkart; Aryaman Birla- Director at Aditya Birla Management; Nilesh Ved- Chairman of Apparel Group and bestselling author Amish Tripathi, among others.

Strengthening India-US Partnership

During a discussion, Musk spoke about the opportunity to strengthen India-US collaboration, especially in technology and space exploration. He stressed that reducing trade barriers could boost trade and support mutual growth. Musk also praised India as an ancient civilization with major contributions to global innovation.

The meeting held just days before Donald Trump's second term inauguration and also discussed Musk’s potential role in the new administration. He is expected to co-chair the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) that showing his growing influence in US policy and governance.
