Sequoia Capital India announced that it has invested $3 million in InCore Semiconductors, marking its second investment in an Indian semiconductor startup.
The announcement of the investment was made during the 'SemiCon India FutureDesign Roadshow' event, which was led by the Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, at IIT-Delhi.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), was part of the Indian government's initiative to promote the growth of next-generation semiconductor designers in the country, with the ultimate goal of establishing India as a semiconductor powerhouse.
InCore Semiconductors, an Indian company that specializes in building RISC-V processor cores, raised funding from Sequoia Capital India as part of its seed funding round.
According to G S Madhusudan, InCore Semiconductors' CEO, and co-founder, receiving funding from Sequoia was a vital milestone for the startup's efforts to establish a top-notch RISC-V ecosystem within the country.

For those who may not be familiar, RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) is a microprocessor architecture that employs a limited set of computer instruction types, which allows for faster system operation. The "V" in RISC-V denotes the fifth generation of this architecture.
InCore asserts that its all-inclusive selection of adaptable RISC-V core generators, core hubs, and SoC (System on Chips) platforms empowers companies to create state-of-the-art semiconductor solutions.
