Karthik Balagopalan, global director of retail and e-commerce for sportswear manufacturer PUMA, has been named the new managing director of PUMA India, one of the company’s fastest-growing markets.
Since 2006, Karthik has been a part of PUMA. He held executive positions in the Retail operations and Business Development departments of PUMA India before taking the helm of the company’s worldwide DTC division.

He is the excellent choice for managing the crucial Indian market due to his local expertise, significant experience in the direct-to-consumer business across all channels, exposure to global company, and headquarters functions. Karthik will be stationed in Bangalore, India, and report to PUMA CEO Arne Freundt.

Abhishek Ganguly, who served as the managing director of PUMA India since 2014 and worked for the company’s Indian division for 17 years, is replaced by Karthik. Abhishek departs from PUMA to pursue an entrepreneurial career at his own business.
