Hoopr raises Rs 4 Cr in extended pre-Series A round

Hoopr raises Rs 4 Cr in extended pre-Series A round

Hoopr, a music licensing platform has raised Rs 4 crore in the first tranche of its Pre-Series A funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) along with participation from multiple family offices and existing investors.

Hoopr is also in advanced discussions with more investors to raise additional funds. This round values the company at ₹160 crore after investment and increases its total funding to ₹18 crore.

Hoopr said the funds will be used to grow Hoopr Smash, improve product innovation, hire more talent, and support its global expansion.

About Hoopr 

Founded in 2021 by Gaurav Dagaonkar and Meghna Mittal, the Mumbai-based Hoopr is a music licensing marketplace with more than 12,000 copyright-free music tracks and sound effects for creators and brands. It also helps musicians earn money by giving them 50% of the licensing fees after covering upfront costs.

Hoopr Smash makes it easier for users to find the right track through smart discovery tools, curated playlists and quick licensing. With just a few clicks, creators and brands can access legally safe music while ensuring artists are paid fairly.

Hoopr has over 30,000 creators on its platform, including Chef Ranveer Brar, Ashish Vidyarthi, Tanya Khanijow, Mr. Indian Hacker, Flying Beast, Rajesh Rawani, and many others. It also works with more than 180 brands such as myntra, Marico, Sony LIV, Mumbai Indians, meesho, Himalaya, and Cadbury.

The startup has partnered with major music companies like Yash Raj Films Music, Universal Music, Saga Music, Merchant Records, and Adobe, and collaborates closely with the Indian Performing Rights Society (IPRS). In the past three years, Hoopr has worked with over 300 independent artists across 21 regional labels and paid out more than ₹4.5 crore in royalties.
