Groww raises Rs 2,984 Cr from anchor investors ahead of its IPO

Groww’s ₹6,632-crore IPO is set to open for subscription on Tuesday. The issue includes a fresh issue of ₹1,060 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 55.7 crore shares worth ₹5,572 crore.

groww’s parent company, Billionbrains Garage Ventures Ltd, has raised ₹2,985 crore from anchor investors ahead of its IPO, according to Bloomberg. The company allotted 29.9 crore shares to these investors at a price of ₹100 per share.

Groww’s ₹6,632-crore IPO is set to open for subscription on Tuesday. The issue includes a fresh issue of ₹1,060 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 55.7 crore shares worth ₹5,572 crore.

Key investors such as Peak XV Partners, Y Combinator, Ribbit Capital, Tiger Global, and Kauffman Fellows will be selling part of their stakes.

JPMorgan, Kotak Mahindra Capital, Citigroup, Axis Capital, and Motilal Oswal are managing the IPO.

Investors can bid for Groww’s shares in the price range of ₹95–₹100, as per the public announcement. The minimum lot size is 150 equity shares (face value ₹2 each), requiring a minimum investment of ₹15,000 at the upper price band.

The retail investor quota is limited to 10% of the total IPO size. At the upper price band of ₹100, Groww’s valuation stands at around ₹92,074 crore.

Billionbrains Garage Ventures Ltd, the parent company of Groww and backed by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, plans to use the proceeds from the IPO’s fresh issue to expand its margin trading, unsecured lending, and wealth management services, and to explore inorganic growth opportunities, according to its offer documents.

Groww is a direct-to-customer digital investment platform that allows users to invest across stocks (including IPOs), derivatives, bonds, and mutual funds, while also offering margin trading and personal loan options.

As per the RHP, Groww is India’s largest and fastest-growing investment platform by active users on the NSE as of June 30, 2025. The company was founded by Lalit Keshre, Harsh Jain, Ishan Bansal, and Neeraj Singh, all former colleagues at flipkart India.
