Bombay Shaving Company raises ₹136 crore led by Sixth Sense Ventures

Bombay Shaving Company has raised ₹136 crore in its Series D round, led by Sixth Sense Ventures, as the company reports PAT profitability.

The funding round, which a mix of primary and secondary transactions, also saw participation from Founder-CEO Shantanu Deshpande, the Patni Family Office, cricketer Rahul Dravid, returning investor GII, and other high-net-worth individuals.

“Thrilled to have Nikhil and Sixth Sense double down, especially with their new fund. Focusing on fast-evolving consumer needs, designing never-seen-before high quality products at competitive prices, and building brand remains core to what we do. We intend to continue this performance and take the company public soon. Idea is to do it sooner rather than later and carry the retail investor on our growth journey," shared Shantanu Deshpande, Founder and CEO, Bombay Shaving Company, in a press note.

The company said the new funds will help strengthen its operations as it prepares for a potential IPO. It plans to grow its omnichannel presence, expand retail reach, and invest in brand-building and hiring.

About Bombay Shaving Company

Founded in 2016 by Shantanu Deshpande, Bombay Shaving Company started as a D2C men’s grooming brand and has since expanded into products like perfumes and face washes, becoming an omnichannel brand. It also runs Bombae, offering women’s products such as razors, trimmers, and wax strips.

The company sells its products through its website, e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms, as well as offline stores.

The brand has become profitable and doubled its revenue in FY25, with an annualized revenue run rate of over ₹550 crore and about 20% sequential quarterly growth.

It also sells women’s grooming products under its Bombae brand. The company’s last Series C funding round was in January 2022 to support product innovation and offline sales expansion. Its main competitors include global brands like Philips and Gillette.
