Zomato's Blinkit Launches Quick Commerce Services in Jammu

As part of Zomato’s strategy to expand quick commerce operations into Tier II cities, Blinkit has launched services in Jammu. 

Blinkit’s cofounder and CEO, Albinder Dhindsa, shared on LinkedIn that three stores in Trikuta Nagar, Roop Nagar, and Akhnoor Road are now operational, catering to over 10 nearby localities.  

This follows Blinkit’s recent expansions in Kochi, Bathinda, Haridwar, and Vijayawada, showcasing its focus on capturing untapped markets. 

The quick commerce platform also onboarded Vipin Kapooria, former VP of business finance at Flipkart as its new CFO signaling a strong push for leadership and innovation.

To stay ahead in the competitive market, Blinkit is introducing new features, including Bistro, a quick food delivery service currently piloting in Gurugram. 

Additionally, it’s exploring larger product deliveries, such as air purifiers and gaming consoles, through a dedicated fleet in Delhi NCR.  

On the seller side, Blinkit launched its ‘Blinkit Seller Hub’ in October, simplifying product listing for brands. Financially, the company achieved significant growth in Q2 FY25, doubling its revenue to ₹1,156 Cr compared to the previous year and reducing its adjusted EBITDA loss to ₹8 Cr from ₹125 Cr.  

With plans to operate 2,000 dark stores by FY26, Blinkit is solidifying its position as a leader in India’s quick commerce boom. It currently operates 791 dark stores nationwide as of Q2 FY25.The role and prominence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) continue to grow rapidly each day.
