Zomato Rejoins Quick-Commerce Race With 15 Minute Food Delivery Service

Zomato has quietly introduced a 15-minute food delivery service, intensifying the competition in the growing quick food delivery market. Currently available on the Zomato app, the service is live in select locations in major cities like Mumbai and Bangalore.

Although Zomato has not officially announced the service yet, its entry into the fast-paced quick-commerce sector is clear, as it takes on rivals like Swiggy’s Bolt, Magicpin, and Zepto.

Racing Against Rivals in Quick-Commerce

This new 15-minute delivery service comes just after Zomato launched its quick-commerce unit, Blinkit. Blinkit is set to offer- Bistro,  a service focused on delivering healthy juices, snacks and meals within minutes.

Zomato ended its 10-minute delivery service in January 2023, just a year after testing it in Bengaluru, Gurugram, and parts of Delhi.

The move of zomato to provide rapid food delivery reflects a growing trend where speed is becoming a key competitive advantage in the food industry.

Swiggy, one of Zomato’s main competitors, launched its Bolt service in October 2024. Bolt has already captured 5% of Swiggy’s total food delivery orders and the company continues to expand its offerings. Similarly, Ola has rolled out its 10-minute food delivery service- Ola Dash, starting in Bengaluru and expanding nationwide.

The Quick-Commerce Space Heats Up

Zomato and its rivals are not the only ones racing for faster delivery times. Last year, Reliance announced its plans to enter the quick-commerce arena with JioMart, promising deliveries within 30 minutes.

Additionally, Myntra has started piloting its own 30-minute delivery service in select areas of Bengaluru for specific brands.

As the quick-commerce race heats up, consumers can expect to see more rapid food delivery services from these companies in the coming months.
