Who is Priya Nair? Hindustan Unilever appoints Priya Nair as MD & CEO

Priya Nair has been appointed as the new Managing Director and CEO of Hindustan Unilever (HUL), one of India’s leading FMCG companies. 

She will take over the role from Rohit Jawa, who is stepping down on July 31 to explore the next phase of his personal and professional journey. Jawa had taken over the position in 2023.

Nair’s appointment will be effective from August 1, 2025, and she will serve a five-year term until July 31, 2030, as per the company’s official statement.

“Priya has had an outstanding career in HUL and Unilever. I am certain that with her deep understanding of the Indian market and excellent track record, Priya will take HUL to the next level of performance,” said HUL Chairman Nitin Paranjpe.

Who is Priya Nair?

Priya Nair began her journey with Hindustan Unilever (HUL) in 1995 and has held several key roles in sales and marketing across different business verticals. She served as Executive Director of Home Care from 2014 to 2020, followed by her role as Executive Director of Beauty & Personal Care from 2020 to 2022.

In 2022, she was appointed as the Global Chief Marketing Officer for the Beauty & Wellbeing division and since 2023, she has been leading the vertical as its global president. Her extensive experience and leadership across categories make her well-positioned to take on the role of MD & CEO at HUL.

Reflecting on his contribution, the company acknowledged Rohit Jawa for driving strong, volume-led competitive growth despite facing a tough and dynamic market environment.

The company took decisive actions to sharpen the portfolio and further stepped up its market leadership over the last two years,” Paranjpe said.
