We Founder Circle, Avinya Ventures co-founder Neeraj Tyagi passes away at 50

Entrepreneur and investor Neeraj Tyagi, co-founder of We Founder Circle (WFC), Avinya Ventures, and Invstt, passed away on Saturday, August 16, at around the age of 50.

Tyagi was a well-known figure in India’s early-stage startup ecosystem. At WFC, he helped build one of the country’s most active angel networks, enabling 100+ startup deals in the last three years.

He also co-founded Invstt, a marketplace connecting startups and investors, which now has 27,000+ investors across 66 countries and 900 cities. In 2024, he co-founded Avinya Ventures, furthering his efforts to strengthen early-stage investing.

Apart from his venture roles, Tyagi was an active angel investor with 60+ personal investments in startups like blusmart, Rooter, zypp Electric, Oben Electric, Anveshan, ClearDekho and HealthySure. 
He was also known for helping Indian founders access global capital, often leading delegations to hubs such as London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing and Dubai.

His sudden passing is a big loss to India’s startup ecosystem, where he was respected as both a mentor and a strong supporter of early-stage founders.
