US VC SamVed Launches $50Mn Fund For Early-Stage Indian Tech Startups

SamVed, a venture capital firm based in the US, has launched a $50 million fund to support early-stage tech startups in India.

SamVed, a venture capital firm based in the US, has launched a $50 million fund to support early-stage tech startups in India. 

The VC firm is led by people with experience at companies like LetsVenture, Bridgewater Associates and google

SamVed will mainly invest in startups in their early stages, offering investments of $80K to $120K and will also provide larger investments of $250K to $1M for pre-Series A rounds.

SamVed said that with the Indian economy expected to grow to $10 trillion in the next ten years, there will be 400 million people in the middle class and 750 million people with higher aspirations.The firm plans to support startups that focus on improving areas like education, healthcare, finance and lifestyle.

Amit Srivastava, Managing Partner at SamVed, said, “India’s growth trajectory presents unparalleled opportunities for startups to drive meaningful change and create scalable businesses."

LetsVenture Founder Shanti Mohan, who is also part of SamVed, said, “We are uniquely positioned to identify high-potential startups and accelerate their growth journeys efficiently.”

This launch follows other recent fund announcements in the Indian startup scene. Earlier this week, Riceberg Ventures announced a $20 million fund for deep-tech startups. In December, Warmup Ventures introduced its second fund of INR 300 crore, focusing on deep-tech and climate tech startups.
