Cab service provider Uber India has launched Uber Direct, entering the B2B logistics space for the first time. The service has been introduced in partnership with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and will help businesses deliver products directly to customers using Uber’s network.
The service will let businesses on ONDC use Uber’s delivery network, beginning with grocery deliveries for Zepto and KPN Farm Fresh. Uber plans to expand this to restaurants, more cities, and additional delivery categories in the future.

This marks Uber’s first ONDC partnership outside of mobility in Bengaluru. However, the company said it has no plans to offer ride-hailing on ONDC for now.
“Uber Direct is our foray into B2B logistics. It offers a plug-and-play solution and lets businesses tap into our wide range of logistics,” said Prabhjeet Singh, President, Uber India & South Asia. “Starting with groceries today, we will soon have more restaurants on board. We will bring this to more cities and more form factors.”
“Uber has been testing logistics services in India for the past year. It currently offers two products—Uber Courier and Uber Courier X. According to Singh, both services are seeing strong adoption among small businesses and consumers, with about 5 million users across the country.
Uber completed 1.2 billion trips in 2025 and now has more than 1.5 million monthly active drivers on its platform, Singh said.
"We thank Uber team for the partnership. Four cities already is big and we will see more metro services in different cities moving forward," said Vibhor Jain, CEO and COO of ONDC.
Separately, Uber has also enabled metro ticket bookings through its ONDC integration. After initially rolling out the service for Delhi and Chennai, the feature is now available for Bengaluru’s Namma Metro as well.
“This will provide multi-modal ticket bookings for consumers. We are creating more and more options to go anywhere in Bengaluru,” Singh said.
The metro integration is part of Uber’s broader strategy to offer more multimodal travel options in its app, enabling users to combine metro rides with autos, cabs and other transport modes.
