Travel Tech Unicorn Oyo To Invest $10 Mn In US-based G6 Hospitality's digital assets

OYO, a global travel tech unicorn company has announced plans to invest $10 million to enhance the digital platforms of G6 Hospitality, a US-based company. This includes improving its website and app. 

This expansion is expected to boost the brands' presence in important markets like Texas, California, Georgia and Arizona. 

The investment will also support targeted digital campaigns to reach customers who are actively looking for places to stay.

Oyo recently acquired the well-known Motel 6 and Studio 6 hotel brands from Blackstone Real Estate for $525 million in an all-cash deal as part of its expansion into the US market.

"By focusing our resources on users with the highest conversion potential, we’re optimising marketing spend while maximising value for our franchise partners. This investment highlights G6’s commitment to empowering its franchise network by boosting direct bookings and minimising reliance on third-party platforms," said Shashank Jain, Head of Online Revenue at G6 Hospitality.

G6 Hospitality recently formed a strategic partnership with HotelKey, a company that provides technology for the hospitality industry. This partnership aims to improve the technology used across its properties in the US and Canada.

Oyo reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 166 crore in Q3 FY25, which is six times higher than the Rs 25 crore in the same period last year. Its revenue also grew to Rs 1,695 crore, reflecting a 31% year-on-year increase, showing a strong recovery from the flat growth seen in FY24.
