The Sleep Company appoints former Eternal executive Hemal Jain as CFO

Direct-to-consumer (D2C) startup The Sleep Company said on Thursday that it has appointed former Eternal executive Hemal Jain as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Jain, who was the global head of finance and CFO of Eternal’s B2B grocery supply unit, Hyperpure, had stepped down from the role in December 2024 to explore new opportunities.

“With over 20 years of experience across FMCG (Hindustan Unilever), food tech, quick commerce, B2B (Eternal), and startup consulting, Jain has partnered closely with founders and CXOs, led large teams, and helped businesses move from high cash burn to sustainable profitability,” the company said in a post on LinkedIn.

Jain was part of Eternal’s senior management team that handled the company’s July 2021 IPO. After leaving Eternal, he briefly served as CFO at ride-hailing startup blusmart for about three months. BluSmart is currently going through insolvency proceedings.

Founded in 2019 by husband-wife duo Harshil and Priyanka Salot, the Mumbai-based Sleep Company sells mattresses, pillows, bedding, cushions, office chairs, recliners, and sofas.

In August 2025, the company raised ₹480 crore through a mix of primary and secondary funding from ChrysCapital and 360 One Asset.

According to tracxn, The Sleep Company reported revenue of ₹320 crore and a net loss of ₹58.7 crore in FY 2024. The company has previously stated an annualized revenue run rate (ARR) of ₹750 crore.
