PayU-owned Wibmo, an online payments security platform is set to appoint Shailesh Paul, a senior Visa executive, as its new CEO, according to sources.
Paul spent nearly 10 years at Visa, where he led global payment acceptance for small businesses. He has also worked with Standard Chartered Bank and Mastercard.
This follows the departure of Suresh Rajagopalan, who stepped down as Wibmo’s CEO in March after five years. He is now CEO at Samunnati Agri Innovation Labs.

In an April 2024 interview, Rajagopalan shared that Wibmo was shifting focus to build a full-stack payment gateway within the PayU ecosystem, with a strong push into B2B payments.
PayU bought Wibmo in 2019 for $70 million to expand beyond consumer payments into security, lending and payment infrastructure.
In March, PayU also invested in Mindgate, valuing the payments firm at $200–250 million.
Founded in 1999 by Govind Setlur and Veena Mistry, Wibmo is a digital payments security and processing platform, focused on making online transactions safer and smoother for businesses and consumers.
It offers services like authentication, fraud prevention, payment gateway solutions, and digital banking tools.
