Polygon Foundation Appoints Sandeep Nailwal as CEO

In a major move, Polygon, the Layer-2 blockchain platform, has named Sandeep Nailwal as the new CEO of the Polygon Foundation.

As CEO, Nailwal will lead the Foundation’s long-term strategy, guide important ecosystem projects, and make sure the Foundation—responsible for Polygon Labs and other groups—drives stronger growth, clearer focus, and more value for users, apps, and POL stakers in the Polygon ecosystem.

“At our beginnings, Polygon was all about bold execution and big goals. During 2021–23, we made a real effort to institutionalise the project by onboarding some amazing people as co-founders, setting up a board, and undergoing a period of intense tech research and exploration. Now, it is time to again move fast, aggressively, and with full conviction and focus,” said Sandeep Nailwal.

With Sandeep Nailwal moving to the Polygon Foundation, Marc Boiron will take over as CEO of Polygon Labs, continuing to lead its strategy and execution. Mudit Gupta has recently been appointed as Chief Technology Officer, while Ryan Niedzialek, a long-time Polygon Labs executive, now serves as Chief Operating Officer, handling business development, partnerships, and core operations.

The company said Nailwal’s appointment as CEO officially recognizes the leadership role he has already been playing, now with more operational authority. It also reflects a renewed focus on creating value for builders, users, and POL holders across the ecosystem.
