PhonePe's Pincode Launches 10-Minute Medicine Delivery

PhonePe’s ecommerce platform Pincode has launched a 10-minute medicine delivery service in Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai.

The service runs 24/7 and delivers medicines from nearby local pharmacies—not from dark stores like some other platforms.

Pincode also offers discounts directly from local stores and doesn’t charge any delivery fee.

Customers can order both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medicines. If someone doesn’t have a prescription, they can choose the “no prescription” option at checkout. In that case, a doctor will contact them for a free consultation and issue a digital prescription.

“Through our continuous availability and free doctor on call, we are improving access to fundamental healthcare services while reinforcing the position of neighborhood medical shops in the digital economy. This approach stimulates local economic growth and ensures trusted medical shops remain integral to their communities,” said Pincode chief executive officer Vivek Lohched.

In November 2024, Pincode started testing its quick commerce service in parts of Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Varanasi, promising to deliver groceries and other items in 10–20 minutes.

PhonePe launched Pincode in 2023 to sell groceries, clothes, food and tech products through the ONDC platform. Later, it began building its own marketplace and stopped selling these items via ONDC.

Now, Pincode is shifting focus from serving buyers to helping local sellers sell their products online.
