OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Pro Subscription Plan for $200/Month

OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Pro, a subscription service priced at $200 per month, offering users access to some of the company's most advanced AI models and tools for handling complex tasks. 

The subscription includes unlimited access to OpenAI's latest model, o1, which features reasoning capabilities and is now out of preview. Users will also have access to o1-mini, GPT-4o, and advanced voice features. Additionally, ChatGPT Pro provides access to o1 pro mode, an enhanced version of the o1 model that utilizes more computing power to deliver improved answers to challenging questions.

OpenAI plans to integrate more high-performance, compute-intensive productivity features into the Pro plan in the future. According to OpenAI’s blog, “ChatGPT Pro offers users a version of our smartest model that thinks longer to provide more reliable responses.

External expert testers found that o1 pro mode delivers more accurate and comprehensive answers, especially in fields like data science, programming, and case law analysis.” The company also noted that o1 pro mode outperforms both o1 and o1-preview models on difficult ML benchmarks, including math, science, and coding.

In addition, OpenAI is granting 10 ChatGPT Pro subscriptions to medical researchers at prestigious US institutions such as Harvard Medical School, Boston University Chobanian, and Berkeley Lab. The company also plans to extend Pro grants to other research areas and regions, aiming to support progress in vital fields.
