Bhavish Aggarwal’s AI startup Krutrim has let go of over 100 employees in its second round of layoffs.
Reports say this move is part of a plan to create smaller teams and use resources more efficiently.

The layoffs have heavily affected Krutrim’s linguistics team, which was recently hired. The team earlier had around 600 members, according to the report.
This comes after Krutrim’s first round of layoffs in June, where over a dozen jobs were cut.
The company raised around $75 million and became a unicorn in January 2024. Its investors include Z47 (formerly Matrix), the Sarin Family, and others. Recently, there were reports about a possible new funding round, but Krutrim denied any such talks.
This move comes just over a month after Krutrim launched its AI assistant, Kruti—a Gen 2 multimodal tool that can understand text, voice, images and files to give smart replies and detailed reports.
