NeuralGarage Becomes The First Indian Startup To Win SXSW Pitch Competition

GenAI startup NeuralGarage has made history as the first Indian startup to win the SXSW Pitch competition at the annual SXSW Conference & Festival in Austin, Texas.

SXSW is a major global event celebrating the intersection of technology, film, music, education and culture.

Out of thousands of global startups, NeuralGarage won in the "Entertainment, Media, Sports & Content" category for its innovative technology, VisualDub.

This technology solves the problem of mismatched visuals in dubbed content by syncing actors' expressions and lip movements with the dubbed audio, creating a more authentic viewing experience.

Mandar Natekar, cofounder and CEO of NeuralGarage, said: "This win is special because winning at SXSW validates our technology, VisualDub, which has been built for the global entertainment industry. Pitching our tech on such an influential platform in front of the brightest minds in entertainment and content was a thrilling experience. This is a stepping stone for us to bring this technology to the world."

Over the past 17 years, winners of the SXSW Pitch competition have raised more than $23 billion in investments. The win is especially significant as the jury, made up of top venture capitalists and content industry leaders, recognized VisualDub’s solution to the longstanding issue of content localization in the entertainment industry.

SXSW also features film and TV screenings, exhibitions, and award ceremonies, making it a key event for creative professionals. This year, major Hollywood stars like Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon and Nicole Kidman attended to showcase their latest projects. A special highlight was a session with Michelle Obama and the screening of Michael Bay’s documentary We Are Storror.
