Nazara Tech's Nodwin Gaming Acquires StarLadder for $5.5Mn to Ramp up Esport events

NODWIN Gaming, a part of the Indian gaming company Nazara Technologies, has bought Ukraine-based esports organizer StarLadder for $5.5 million (Rs 46.75 crore).

NODWIN Gaming, a part of the Indian gaming company Nazara Technologies, has bought Ukraine-based esports organizer StarLadder for $5.5 million (Rs 46.75 crore).

As part of the deal, NODWIN will pay $2 million in cash and give $3.5 million worth of shares in its parent company, NODWIN Gaming, based in Singapore.

With this deal, StarLadder founder Roman Romanstov will remain in charge of the company and become a shareholder in NODWIN Gaming. There may also be extra payments based on performance, but the details haven't been shared.

Founded in 2018 by Romanstov, the StarLadder team has more than 20 years of experience in organizing esports events. This includes major tournaments like the Valve CSGO Major, Valve Dota2 Major and Minors, 18 seasons of StarSeries CS 1.6 and CSGO and 17 seasons of StarSeries in DOTA2.

The company has also organized many custom events and worked with big game developers such as Valve, Tencent, Krafton, Blizzard, Riot Games, Supercell, Com2us, Moonton and Smilegate, among others.

Founded by Akshat Rathee and Gautam Singh Virk in 2014, Nodwin Gaming has been expanding its services in India and internationally through several acquisitions and investments in recent years.

In November 2024, the company acquired Trinity Gaming, a gaming agency and creator service provider, for Rs 24 crore. It also bought AFK Gaming, a gaming and esports firm, for Rs 7.6 crore in December 2024.

In June 2024, Nodwin purchased the German esports and gaming marketing agency Freaks 4U Gaming to boost its expertise in PC gaming and game publishing support.
