Mirae Asset Sharekhan Appoints Moon Kyung Kang as CEO & Director

Mirae Asset Sharekhan, a leading full-service financial company in India, has appointed Moon Kyung Kang as its new CEO and Director, starting June 16, 2025.

Kang takes over from Jisang Joo, who guided the company through a major transformation, including its integration into the Mirae Asset Group. Joo has now moved on to a new role within the group.

Kang is an experienced leader with 25 years in global financial services. He founded and led Mirae Asset Securities Vietnam in 2007, growing it into the country’s largest foreign-owned securities firm (Top 4 in 2023, as per the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange). 

He is known for driving innovation, focusing on customer needs, and building strong growth strategies. He has led similar businesses in major markets like South Korea and also set up operations in Brazil and Los Angeles.

In his new role, Kang will oversee the operations of Mirae Asset Sharekhan and its subsidiary companies, while also serving as CEO and Director of Mirae Asset Capital Markets. His appointment comes at an important time, as Mirae Asset Sharekhan moves forward with post-merger integration and plans to grow its key businesses.
