Lenskart to Build World’s Largest Eyewear Manufacturing Unit in Telangana with ₹1,500 Crore Investment

lenskart, one of India’s leading eyewear brands, has announced a ₹1,500 crore investment to build the world’s largest eyewear manufacturing facility in Hyderabad’s Fab City. 

This state-of-the-art unit will produce a variety of products, including eyewear, lenses, sunglasses, and accessories.  

Co-founder Amit Chaudhary stated that the plant will meet India’s growing eyewear demand and cater to international markets, especially Southeast Asia and the Middle East. 

The announcement was made during an event marking one year of the Revanth Reddy-led Telangana government, where Chaudhary signed an MoU with the state in the presence of Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.

Why Telangana Was Chosen  

Lenskart considered several states but ultimately selected Telangana due to its efficient business environment and government support. A plot in Fab City has already been allocated, with land handover expected within a week, confirmed TSIIC Vice Chairman Vishnu Vardhan Reddy.  

Employment and Innovation Boost  

The new facility is expected to create approximately 2100 jobs and contribute to the local economy. Additionally, Lenskart plans to establish a Research and Development (R&D) center in the state reinforcing Telanganas reputation as a hub for innovation and investment friendly policies.
