Grasim Appoints Sachin Sahay As Birla Opus Paints CEO

Grasim Industries has appointed Sachin Sahay as the new CEO of Birla Opus Paints, following the resignation of former CEO Rakshit Hargave last year.

In an exchange filing, the company said Sahay has been appointed CEO of its paints business and as a senior management personnel, effective February 16, 2026. He joins from ITC, where he last served as Executive Vice President–Sales.

“Sachin Sahay joins us from ITC, where he last served as Executive Vice President – Sales, bringing over 30 years of leadership experience in sales and marketing across entrepreneurial roles and multi-geography assignments in India. He has played a pivotal role in ITC’s FMCG transformation journey, including the creation and scale-up of its FMCG channel from greenfield operations to its current national footprint,” the company noted in the exchange filing.

The company said Sahay played a key role at ITC in rolling out field force automation and streamlining stockist operations across businesses such as cigarettes, foods and FMCG, helping improve capital use and partner engagement.

He has led the launch and growth of several brands, built large distribution networks in both urban and rural markets, and driven major transformation initiatives with a strong focus on processes and people, the statement said.
